Accepting Others as Christ Accepts Us

"Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God"
Romans 15:7
Christ accepted us at our worst, not at our best. He didn’t wait for us to be perfect or have everything figured out, He met us right where we were, full of flaws and brokenness, and invited us into His grace. That same call is extended to us, to welcome and love others, just as He has welcomed us.
This is not easy. Loving others without conditions goes against our natural tendencies. We want to love when it’s convenient, when people “deserve” it, when they meet our standards. But God calls us to something higher, to love freely, generously, and without judgment.
Every act of unconditional love, whether a kind word, a listening ear, or forgiving someone who hurt us is an act of worship. When we choose to love others, we reflect Christ and honor God.
Today, I pray that I can grow in this grace. I want to practice welcoming and loving others every day, even when it’s hard, because in doing so, I am worshiping the One who first welcomed me.
Reflection:
• Who in your life is hard to love right now? How can you show them acceptance today?
• In what ways can your acts of love reflect God’s grace to others?
Prayer:
Lord, help me to love others as You have loved me. Teach me to welcome those around me without conditions, and to see them through Your eyes. May my love be an offering of worship to You today and always. Amen.
